SRUC is a specialist, land-based institution with a vision to be the leader for innovation and sustainable development in the rural sector, with expertise in a wide range of subject areas which feed in to the sustainability agenda.

Sustainability, conservation and protecting the environment are now of prime importance.

With ever-increasing demands on our natural resources from recreation, conservation and energy generation, as well as the impacts of traditional land uses such as agriculture and forestry, there’s a clear need for graduates with a broad understanding of the relevant issues, and the growing range of careers open to them.

BSc (Hons) Sustainable Food Production & Land Use is an applied biology degree that considers how land-use practices can help to tackle today’s critical challenges of climate change, biodiversity and food security.
