Living in Edinburgh
Edinburgh, with a population of half a million people, and an unusually large and diverse student population (over 62,000 students study in Edinburgh) offers community, variety and a wealth of activities to recommend it as a popular place in which to live and study.
Edinburgh's historical centre, castle, elegant suburbs, parks and gardens combine well with contemporary, modern development. Its east coast location means you can easily choose to be by the sea or walking or skiing in the Pentland Hills.
Our Edinburgh Campus is situated to the south of the city as part of the University of Edinburgh's King's Buildings Campus, which hosts multiple bars and libraries and has direct bus links straight into the city centre.

Edinburgh Campus Sports Facilities
Due to its close proximity and links with Edinburgh University, all of the campuses sports facilities are run by the Edinburgh University Students' Union (EUSA). SRUC Edinburgh students are able to become EUSA members through a registration process at the start of each academic year.
EUSA facilities include the Centre for Sport and Exercise (CSE) and playing fields, which offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Among what is offered as indoor activities are gyms (free weights and machines), badminton and squash courts, football, basketball, volleyball, martial arts and more. Outdoor facilities include football and rugby pitches, cricket squares and a residential outdoor activity centre which offers sailing, windsurfing, hillwalking and mountain biking to name a few.
SRUC Edinburgh also has its own rugby, football and hockey teams which compete against local teams as well as teams from the other SRUC campuses. The city's sports facilities (both indoor and out) are also very impressive and include Europe's largest artificial ski slope which is open all year round.
