Accommodation at SRUC King’s Buildings, Edinburgh
Find out about the different kinds of available student accommodation.
In 2020-2021 we are arranging on-campus study in blocks where we can, to enable you to travel if you would like to. If you are intending to book Edinburgh accommodation for the full year, the below links will provide what you need. If you live more locally, however, and are looking for accommodation just for a few nights to attend campus, there are several options.
The Travelodge at Cameron Toll is only a 10 minute walk from the campus and provides good budget hotel accommodation. There are also many Bed and Breakfast providers near to the campus, and the best way to search for those would be via the Visit Scotland website.
If you have your own transport, you can also book nightly accommodation at SRUC's Oatridge Campus which is a 45 minute drive from SRUC Edinburgh.
Download the Student accommodation application form here as PDF or as Microsoft Word document. Your campus residential manager must receive this information directly from you to confirm your accommodation.
In recent years there are many more providers that have established residences across the city.
Students can apply for accommodation at any time, and you don't need to wait until you have a confirmed place at SRUC. The application process is online via the providers own website:
- iQ Student Accommodation
- Mansion Student Accommodation
- New Park, Downing Students
- The Student Housing Company
- Fresh Student Living
- Prime Student Living
- The Nido Collection
- My Student Halls
- Accommodation for Students
- Homes for Students
Travel to our King's Buildings campus from all of the accommodation locations is straightforward as all are centrally located and buses in Edinburgh are regular and reliable. Designed to high specification, the properties offers some non-ensuite rooms with larger shared bathrooms, and a range of ensuite rooms and studios.
Included in the price are all utility bills, in-room internet access, and basic contents insurance.
Alternatively, many students choose to rent accommodation within the city's private rental sector. Edinburgh has a large student population and a large rental market, so finding a room to rent as part of a flat-share, or even a flat to rent alone, is very rarely a problem.
The Education Office is able to provide further advice on finding accommodation and holds a list of students looking for accommodation to help group individuals together allowing you to look for whole flats to rent as well as individual rooms.
Accommodation details are sent to applicants to whom an offer is made.
